Founded in 2015, MOVE|NYC| is a civic arts and social justice organization dedicated to cultivating a more diverse and inclusive society by transforming the field of professional dance. Through unparalleled and primarily tuition-free training, mentorship, and career support, MOVE|NYC| empowers the next generation of artists to break boundaries, honor their unique stories, and move the field forward. By preparing young artists to succeed not only as dance professionals but as engaged global citizens, MOVE|NYC| is priming a new generation for leadership in a rapidly changing world—creating a future where exceptional talent thrives, no matter where it begins.

MOVE|NYC|’s core initiative, the Young Professionals Program, is a tuition-free mentorship and college preparation program for gifted New York City teenagers. With a 100% acceptance rate to the nation’s top colleges, conservatories, and professional training programs, MOVE|NYC| alumni are already “changing the face of dance” across six countries—just a decade after the organization’s founding. In 2024, MOVE|NYC| received the inaugural National Dance Education Organization’s “Outstanding Dance Organization” Award.
